Who Was Ferdinand Magellan?

Who was Ferdinand Magellan? That is a great question because I am learning about Ferdinand Magellan. He was the the first to go all around the world, not Columbus. He saved his lost men. He was Portuguese but became a Spanish citizen with all the amazing things he had done. He also named the Pacific ocean. It means peaceful ocean. After all of the amazing things he had done for Spain, the Portuguese were jealous of Spain so he was sent to be killed. When he discovered that the world was bigger than he imagined he ripped up all of the his maps. His crew was dying of hunger but, it was then when he saw the Philippines, and knew that he had gone around the world.

kimbob

Korean food is a lot different then American food. For example most American food doesn't require rice but Korean food does. One of the easiest Korean foods to make is Kimbob. Kimbob is a type of sushi. It is like California rolls. First you get a special type of seaweed that is made for making Kimbob. You lay the rice down on to the seaweed and make the rice flat so the rice's shape looks like the seaweed. Than you make long stripes of carrots, ham, spinach, and eggs. Later you lay it down on the rice and roll it up. cut it. Finally you get Kimbob. yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Satchel Paige

Satchel Paige was a black baseball player in 1929. He started off as a Negro league pitcher. The negro league is where only blacks would play in, not whites. But, if the black player is really good he would play in the white leagues. He came from a poor family. He was very popular. Some times he would get shout at but he did not care.

Keeping Score by Linda Sue Park

Keeping Score is about a girl named Maggie having a passion for baseball, and meeting a man named Jim who teaches her every thing he knows about baseball. But sadly he is drafted away to the Korean war and her communication with him stopped. What could have happened to him? Did he die or is he just ignoring her mail?
This book has a lot of ups and downs, because first Maggie cries because the Dodger lose, but she is happy when she sees Jim. She never seems to get mad when her dad never lets her go to the ballgame. The part that I am in is when Maggie's favorite team, which is the Dodgers lose the championship, and Maggie goes to the fire department to walk the fire house dog. Then suddenly she got the news that Jim was drafted away to the Korean war.

The Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks are a professional hockey team in California. The Ducks were named because of a Walt Disney movie called the "Mighty Ducks." In 1993 the team was one of the top selling teams in the NHL. The team is in California. My favorite player is Scott Miedermayer. I like this team because there are a lot of good players. I like ice hockey because you can smash other players.

mad boy fisher

This is a Bluegill that lives in Longfellow Pond. I mostly catch this fish in the pond.

I have been fishing at Longfellow Pond for a while and I have caught a Bass, catfish, and a ton of blue gills, also known as sun fish.
I own two fishing poles and a tackle box filled with fake bait, rubber bands, flies, hooks, weight, Bobber's, two small knifes, a net, a scisors, extra line, nail clipers and last but not least a first aid kit.
I had found out that you can fish without a licence if you are fifteen or younger. So people who are 15 right now and their birthday is coming up, fish all you can before you do illegal fishing.

Manny Ramirez is a professional baseball player. But lately he has gone wild. He had pushed a 64 year old guy, and punched him. later he did apologize to the man. Also he had slapped Kevin Youkilis twice in the dugout and the team members had to stop him. Why is he like this and why would he act like this? He is one of the most highly paid baseball players in the team.

Rube Goldberg Project

Rube Goldberg was a famous inventor. He takes simple things and can make them into the most complicated things. In my class our mission is to do that very same thing. Our group has five people. Our group's objective is to put ice in water. We are connecting tubes and marbles with dominoes, using glue and nails. We did a pretty good job in the beginning , but now it is a mess. 2 of our group members just totally took over and had changed the whole entire thing. So now we have a project that I have no idea how it looks or how it is supposed to work. AND WE ONLY HAVE 3 DAYS UNTIL THE FINAL PROJECT!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PENGUINS

Penguins are a species from the northern part of the world. You may know the famous emperor penguins, which is of the least concern of all penguins. But there is a penguin that is called Rockhopper that is near extinction after a few decades at this rate. The reason that the panguins are exticted is because of the over fishing and because of the over fishing the penguins have no food. Also global warming is the cause because of the melting ice and when the ice melts the penguins can't go to places were there is rich amount of food because of the breaking ice.

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt

The book I have been reading is " Tuck Everlasting." The characters are Mae Tuck, Angus Tck, Winnie Foster, Jesse Tuck, Miles Tuck, and The man with the yellow suit. The setting takes places places during the 1800's. This story is about the Tuck family drinking a mysterious magical water from a spring and then living forever and ever. Later on Winnie found it out, too. Winnie is a 10-year old girl who lives near the spring. I haven't finished the book yet but it is really interesting!

My Beliefs

My religion is humanitarianism. I believe in helping others And I also believe in myself. I do not go to any churches nor do I belive in any god (no offense to religious people). I also belive that There is a life cycle and I do not believe in an afterlife. So in these reasons it just proves that I am a humanitarian.

JUDAISM

Judaism is a religion that came before Christianity. Abraham was the father of Jews. He led the Jews into Canaan and had a son named Isaac. God wanted to test his trust so God ordered Abraham to sacrifice his son. When Abraham went up to the mountains to sacrifice his son a angel came down and said not to kill his son.
Moses was adopted by a Egyptian queen. He had with her until he accidentally killed one of his servants. He ran away and married a woman in a tribe in the middle of the desert. When Moses saw the burning bush God spoke to him, and commanded Moses to lead the Jews out of Egypt and back to Canaan. When Moses asked the king to let the Hebrews (Jews) go, the king said no. God was full of anger and had directed Moses to do the "The Ten Plagues." On the last plague the king had let the Jews go. Then Moses went up to Mount Sinai to receive the "Ten Commandments," which were given to Moses by God himself.
The star of David is the symbol of the Jews and was established about 200 years ago. Legends say that the star of David was on King Davids Shield.

Guinea Pigs

I got a guinea pig named Watkins.

Guinea pigs originated from South America. They are members of the rodent family. They live up to 5~8 years with good care. They require 30~50 mg of vitamen C from vegetables and fruit every day. You need to change their water every day. They need to eat Timothy Hay as well.

They're also an important source of food in South America ( which is really scary). It has been a pet since the 16th century, by the Europeans. The name Guinea pig comes from the Latin languge " little pig."

My new pet is very friendly and he likes to eat a lot, and poop a lot!

A New Pet

You obviously know that I have a pet hermit crab, but I want something cuddly and affable. So came down with a solution of buying a Guinie Pig. Guinea Pigs are affable and cuddly and fluffy. Also most of them are gentle and not aggressive. When you take care of a Guinea pig it is less work than a dog but more work than a cat. I always give my hermit crabs fresh water every day and never bother them when they're sleeping. So I think that I would be able to take care of a guinea pig!++```

Hermit Crabs

Jaey Cho 1/03/08
The BRAIN

It was a day when the moon would shimmer like the chariot of Artemus. My brother, Kevin, and I were playing VICE CITY, when suddenly my brother goes “AAAA OUCH”. Kevin blamed it on me but I was innocent. When we got over the very long argument, there was Mr. T., my pet hermit crab, crawling on my bother’s toe! It was scarier than a man-eating chipmunk. How had he gotten out of his tank? So we went to Plan “A” – videotaping Mr. T. But my brother forgot to press the “record” button. Mr. T. was lucky, but he will never be lucky with Plan “B” – seal the cage with terrifying string of black camouflaged in the dark yarn.
When I came from school Mr. T. had cut the piece of yarn in half, and had escaped, out of the cage. I was on a mission! I searched under the sofa bed, and any small dark place that I could find. Hermit crabs like dark places. Suddenly I heard a clicking noise in my living room. When I arrived Mr. T.’s shell was empty! I was too late. Mr. T. was vaporized. I was crying so much that a person could have taken a bath in my tears.
Just then, I felt a pinching on my back. It was him! I was so happy. But the tissue box was on the ground. It was just then, when I noticed that Mr. T was in the tissue box! First I got mad because Mr. T made me worry for nothing, but later I thought that it was ingenious of him to hide in the tissue box.
Later I thought of selling Mr. T. to scientists to study my smart hermit crab brain. After all he did use his brain to run off. But come to think of it, I would miss the fun entertainment that he gave the past few days. So I wouldn’t sell him. But I could have made easy money!
