Congressman Anthony Wiener

Earlier this week congressman Anthony Wiener has admitted that he had sent inappropriate messages to a seventeen year old girl in Delaware. He is now under pressure to resign and step down as congressman, however he is refusing to resign. Nancy Pelosi, the leader of the Democratic party believes that he should step down as congressman because she thinks it can hurt the Democratic party. In my opinion He should step down because as a leader he should set the right example. A congressman should not send pictures of himself naked despite the age of the girl.

Raisin in the Sun

The book Raisin in the Sun is about a poor black family that gets a big insurance check. However they loose most of the money in a big get rich quick scheme. In the end they ended up buying a house in a white dominate neighborhood.
This book was based on the authors life as a child. She talks about how when she walked to school people would yell at her, spit at her, and throw rocks at her. It was hard to live in a white racist community however it is more inspiring to see her fight through it and see her people very successful.

Super Bowl Sunday

Today is Super Bowl XIV. The steelers and Packers face off for the first time in Super Bowl history. It is going to be a very close game since the Steelers have won six Super bowls, the most in NFL history, but Green Bay is going to win. My predictions are that the Steelers are going to be winning by the first half and by the second half the Packers are going to catch up and win by only a few points.

Problems in Egypt

Egypt is located in Africa and people commonly mistake it for being in the middle east. Hosni Mubarak is the president of Egypt, however he has been in power for over thirty years and is now in his eighties. Today Egyptian civilians have broken out into protests, inspired by neighboring country Tunisia in hopes of overthrowing the government, like Tunisia did.
The citizens want to have more freedom and a different form of government. Egypt has been one of the most stable countries in its region, and is an ally of the U.S.
